The Moroccan Gold
An ancient secret grows in the earth of the southern part of Morocco. The Organ trees. For many years, women have been using it’s oil for their beauty routines.
The oil is retrieved from the kernel inside the nut. It mainly gross in the semi-dessert area in South Western Morocco (Agadir). They call it the moroccan gold for a reason…
How is it made?
The oil is made by local Amazigh-speaking women around different cities in Morocco. They have been drying the argan fruit in the sun, followed by peeling and smashing the fruit. Eventually they crush and grind the kernel with stones
Another special day is that the argan nut are eaten by goats and later spit out after they have ruminated it and ate the fleshy part of the fruit. Note: Do not worry about hygiene as the kernels are protected in a shell and come out untracked for then further processing.
Sometimes it takes up to 2 days to extract the pure oil of the Argan. It is worth the wait!
How to use?
Argan oil is used for primary 2 things.
- The cosmetic use
- The culinary use
For now we are going to focus on the beauty of things.
Argan oil is mainly used for Skin and Hair. You can use it as a daily basis. (Note: Discuss with your doctor if you have any tree-nut allergies).
Skin
The oil gives an amazing hydration to it and adds moisture. Hydration, who doesn’t love it. Furthermore, it can reduce wrinkles and brighten the skin for that glowly look. For people with sensitive skin, or acne-problems, argan oil will probably help you too. As it is proven that the oil reduces clogged pores and acne.
It does help with skin infections as psoriasis and eczema. The antioxidants are a great force and it gives the possibility to help treat and prevent both bacterial infections. I personally use it on places where I have severe psoriasis as it gives a calming effect and hydrated the dry areas. People that suffer from atopic dermatitis have found that it does help them with the itchy, red skin (What a RELIEF!)
Hair
Now, we have all seen these videos coming up on our screen about hair care, and what people should use for your hair. Let me tell you a big FACT. ARGAN, ARGAN and once again ARGAN…
Many natural products are proven to be very beneficial for hair care. But one that is very popular and been a hit for years now is the argan oil.
What does it do with your hair?
Well it hydrates and softens the hair. When you apply it, it will feel a bit dry but a moment later it gives you that BOM of HYDRATION. With all the benefits that the oil has (We’ll talk about that later), it increases the hair elasticity and gives life to dull hair. Not only does it give life to our beautiful hair, it increases the shine of it. So let that hair shine baby!
Like almost everyone in this world I had a lot of breakage but, the oil really prevented that now. There is so much good in it. It literally protects hair from mechanical stress. You might wonder, how just one oil can do such greatness?
Well, the oil contains a lot of essential nutrients that are great for you skin and hair. It is a very fatty acid. It contains a good amount of Oleic (a healthy fat) and Linoleic acid (Which is an omega-6 acid). These 2 are additionally great nutrients. Argan is also rich in Vitamin A, C and E.
Please let me guide you om how to use this wonder oil.

Skin Use
We know that is good for skin diseases, dry skin and other types of irritations.
First, place some drops of oil on the places that require treatment. You immediately feel the hydration. If the oil is a bit harsh for your skin, you can also use it by putting a few drops into your favorite facial cream and apply gently it on your skin.
Hair Use
The Moroccan gold is amazing for the hair.
You can use it different ways.
One, as a hydrating mask. Just leave the oil up to 15-30 minutes and wash it away. (Note: It is not an deep oiling treatment – avoid the scalp). Secondly, you can use it as a spray to protect your hair, of giving the hair a little shine.
But my most favorite type of way is to use it as a relieving scalp treatment.
Massage the oil for about 5-10 minutes onto the scalp. Wrap your hair with a silk tissue. Leave it up to 20-30 minutes and wash thoroughly with a shampoo free from sulfates and parables. (All natural here).
In the end the results are AMAZING.
